What Have I Gotten Myself Into?!?!

Z note:  So this is my first time doing this (a blog) so I decided to go with a classic.

The Legacy Challenge

I must admit, although I've started a Legacy in both Sims 3 and 4 ...  I have yet to make it to the end game of 10 Generations....
But for you...  I'll try to go the distance.  >_<
If anyone doesn't know, you can find the rules for the Challenge - as well as the Random Trait Generator (for the kiddies) HERE.

Chapter 1 - Meet the Founder

Kiera Stokes has a dream.  She wants a life, and a family of her own.  Her parents passed away in a diving accident in Isla Paradiso when she was 12.  She had been living with her grandmother in Lucky Palms since then.
Although her Grams loved her very much, the Stokes family were never what you would call "well-off" ... there was no inheritance from Kiera's parents, and taking care of a teen on the limited and tight budget of an elderly woman - well, it was hard going.

Kiera worked as much as she could to help with the bills. But, her Grams was more interested in Kiera saving any money she made.  Her Grams knew that her time left in the world, was coming to a close.  She prayed that she'd make it until Kiera graduated from High School ... beyond that - Everyday would be a gift.

Kiera's Grandmother passed away a mere week after Kiera's graduation.

Although, they had very little.  There was still quite a bit that needed to be taken care of. The house that Kiera had called home for 6 years wasn't really worth much -The land was more valuable,  and so, The Landgraab Corporation bought the property.

And so Kiera considered life...  What would she do?  What COULD she do?  There was nothing holding her back.  No connections to keep her in Lucky Palms .....

The last piece of mail Kiera received before throwing the last of her clothes in a small suitcase - was a letter from an old college friend of her mothers named Alice.  Keira's mother had been a struggling artist - with more passion than talent.  But Kiera... she had always been Creative and had always shown a great deal of promise. Alice Spencer-Kim had a few connections with the art community in a town called Willow Creek.  She'd have a job if she wanted it, but Kiera would have to start at the bottom of the ladder.

Kiera believed this was her chance to make a life of her own.  And so she, hit the library to use the internet.  Did a little searching, and found a large, beautiful plot of land for sale. After agreeing on the asking price, Kiera had just enough money to buy some essential furniture to be delivered to her new address, and a bus ticket to Willow Creek.

Kiera had been excited during her journey, but the harsh reality was like a bucket of cold water on a hot day.
"I don't even have walls!  What was I thinking?!  I can't live out in the open like this!?"
After a brief fit, which she managed to contain in her head... she came to a decision.
"I'll just have to make do.  I can do this... I CAN.  I will work exceptionally hard at work.  I will live off the land, and sell anything that looks like it might be worth a couple bucks.  I WILL be OK."

She took a deep breath and decided to call a cab, maybe heading downtown to check out the Museum where she would be starting work in the morning would make her feel a little better.  "Maybe I can even meet a few people?"

The Municipal Muses Museum was a lovely building.  It had a fantastic view and a wonderful outdoor area where she could see herself enjoying lunch with a co-worker.

The inside was warm and inviting.... even if the selection of art was a little ... sparse.

Although there were a few sims walking around, Kiera suddenly found herself feeling a little shy.  She managed to say Hello to a few people, but what could she really say to them.  She didn't really want anyone knowing that she was living the way she was.  She didn't want to talk about what had brought her to Willow Creek.  Her Grams death was still hard for her to talk about.  And her parents.... well... she never talked about what happened to them.  So instead she wandered around the museum.  Viewing statues and paintings... even attempted playing the piano she found on the back veranda.

Kiera suddenly realized that it was getting pretty late.  She was tired from her long journey, tired of considering all the hard work she had ahead of her.  She had to head home.... and she wasn't looking forward to spending the night in her new "home".

When Kiera returned to her "home" ... she was looking around and noticed a few things that were interesting.  Some plants and funny looking rocks...  Maybe there'd be something she could sell?

And all that foraging worked up an appetite...

Z Note:  Can I just say... WHO USES EAR WAX AS A CONDIMENT?!?!?!  Ewwww... Just Ewwwww....  :/

After her YUMMY salad >_< ...  Kiera decided to call it a night.  Maybe this wouldn't be so bad... at least for a little while.  Sleeping under the stars was pretty nice.  Anyway, she'd let reality crash in again tomorrow.
For now, there was just sleep ... and a slight bubbling excitement that her life was going to be changing a lot... very VERY soon.
